National University Commission (NUC) close down universities

About nine universities have been shut down down by the National University Commission ( NUC). This universities are, National University of Nigeria, keffi Nasarawa state, North Central University, Otukpo, Benue state, Richmond open University,Arochukwu; Abia state, st. Clement University,Iyin Ekiti; Ekiti state, satellites campus of Ambrose Ali university, west coast university Umuhia, Volta University Abia and Christ Alive Christian Seminary and University, Enugu state, university, the council said that this university have been operating as illegal Universities, issuing fake certificate to the students. The universities shut down were describe as illegal institutions, which aims at the financial exploitation of the students.the universities according to the NUC have existed for many years, and have issued numerous of fake certificate to the students. According to the Secretary the council, prof.Julius Okonjie, he said that the law will prosecute the owners of this universities and refund will be made for all finance charge by the them. The Secretary of the council also explained that nine additional private universities are set to be approve by president Johnathan at the Federal executive council. Prof.Okojie also stressed the need for students to stoop low and learn, stating that access to university education is a major challenge facing the youths. He also stated that the council is planing to introduce a pre-PhD programmes in Nigeria. He warn that students should desist from patronising fake universities,as any certificate gotten from this universities is at their own risk.
