Do you care to know the man OWOIDEGHE-ABASI JACOB ADIAKPAN

Owoideghe-abasi Jacob Adiakpan is a renowned community
organizer most recently known for his community service and
volunteering campaign.

Owoideghe-abasi Jacob Adiakpan (born September 9, 1962) is a
community organizer best known for his community service and
youth endearing programs. He served as the President of Men of
Honor in 1985 and a patron for Hope for Hopeless NGO in 2005.
He has also served as the Grand Patron of Millennial Cycle Club
since 2005.
Life & Career
Owoideghe was born September 9, 1962, at Qua Iboe Mission
Hospital, Etinan (now General Hospital Etinan), in Etinan LGA. His
father Chief Elder Jacob Bassey Adiakpan was Teacher and
Principal at Etinan institute, a premier secondary school in the
former south eastern state founded in 1914. Chief Elder Jacob
Bassey Adiakpan was also the first person to become clan head
at the age of 39 while attaining a bachelors and masters degree
in the 1950s. His Mother retired as a senior Nursing matron at
Qua Iboe Mission Hospital, Etinan.
From ages seven to twelve, Owoideghe attended Qua Iboe church
primary school Ndon Eyo and in 1974 he moved to Eket to attend
government secondary school Afaha Eket.
While attending secondary school, he lived with his grand-father
Chief Abasi Adiakpan as his father continuously travelled as
supervisor of schools at the time. While living with his
grandfather in Eket Owoideghe became close to his uncle Chief
Andrew Bassey Adiakpan who was a political activist at the time
and started reading some of his uncles letters.
Following secondary school, Owoideghe moved to onna to attend
the School of arts and sciences, as adviced by the schools
counsellor. He scored his A levels and proceeded to Yaba college
of technology which was the best technology college at the time.
Owoidegehe would spend 1982 to 1987 in yaba college of
technology where he majored in Building Technology, while also
driving college social activities CO-HEADS and TEE CAPO.
After obtaining his Higher national diploma, he proceeded to
university of Calabar, where he obtained a post graduate diploma
on his way to his Executive MBA.
After graduation from Yaba College, Owoideghe was posted to
serve in Nigeria National Youth Service scheme in Katsina where
he worked as projects supervising assistant at the Katsina State
Ministry of works. A year later, after graduation, he moved and
settled in Kaduna where he was employed by Buildrite Nigeria
Limited as a site supervisor.
In 1989, Owoideghe received an employment offer from mobil
producing Nigeria Limited and would relocate back to his home
town in Eket where he would work for 24yrs attaining a position
of offshore installation manager for the multinational corporation.
Politics & Social Campaigns
In 2010, Owoideghe launched project Akwa Abasi-Ibom.
The project was designed to drive a community building
conversation with the people highlighting the impact of
community service, volunteering and team projects.
The effect of the program was marginal as first but by 2012, the
project had gathered enough momentum to push for the launch of
a social network domain, a 2015 governorship campaign and a
Technology Business Roundtable initiative.
The vision was simple for the youths “Building Akwa Ibom State
in your dreams”
For Owoideghe, Akwa Ibom State should be a Destination of
choice for all Nigerians by 2019.
